Record retailer interest shows recognition that 'recycling is important to business'
Exhibiting for the fifth year at The Flooring Show in September, Carpet Recycling UK's stand and seminar proved more popular than ever, providing details of the latest carpet recycling opportunities to more than 125 delegates at the national event.
At what was reported by Wendy Adams, Flooring Show Event Director to be "the best attended seminar of the show", manufacturers, distributors, recyclers and flooring suppliers gathered to hear CRUK Manager Jane Gardner and CRUK Recycling Champion Award winner Neville Hinchliffe, Flooring Manager at Arighi Bianchi (pictured), outline the potential cost savings and sales benefits of recycling waste carpet. Neville's account of achieving zero to landfill for carpet waste at Arighi Bianchi prompted much interest from delegates wishing to learn how to replicate the CRUK member company's recycling success.
CRUK Director Laurance Bird commented: "The high level of interest this year from flooring suppliers shows that more and more are coming to see recycling carpet waste as important to their business, not just because of potential savings but also as a powerful selling point."
The association thanks established members for their continued support and invites companies from across the supply chain to join CRUK and learn how recycling can be implemented at their stores. Flooring suppliers can join for £100/year with benefits including publicity and support. For members of buying groups Flooring One, Greendale and Metro, the cost is £75/year.
