Annual Conference: Perfectly placed to 'Champion Resource Recovery From Carpets'
Following their Premiership triumph, Leicester City Football Club will provide a fitting venue for this year's Carpet Recycling UK Annual Conference, themed on leadership and success in driving forward resource recovery from carpets. Matching the prestige of the setting, celebrity architect and designer Oliver Heath will provide a keynote address at the event on 29th June 2016, and host the annual awards ceremony to celebrate the achievements of Carpet Recycling UK members.
Oliver Heath is widely recognised for his expertise in sustainable design and regularly presents seminars at leading events such as Grand Designs Live and EcoBuild. CRUK director Laurance Bird said: "He promotes the concepts of 'practical and style-led sustainability' and the principles of "ingenious recycling" and we're delighted to welcome him as our host in championing our aims to find new uses for waste carpet and divert it from landfill."
The conference, which is once again sponsored by Invista, manufacturers of ANTRON® Carpet Fibres, will appeal to representatives from across the supply chain: manufacturers, recyclers, contractors, retailers and local authorities as well as architects and designers. The day's programme will span a range of topics, including waste prevention/redesign, take-back schemes, energy recovery and best practice to encourage greater reuse and recycling of carpet. Case studies from flooring contractors will include the 'secret of carpet recycling'.
Laurance added: "Our annual conference offers delegates the opportunity to share best practice, breakthroughs and successes, this year at the inspirational home of the Foxes. We look forward to welcoming you in Leicester!"
