Entrepreneurs show interest in carpet recycling at Ecobuild
Ecobuild is an excellent opportunity to showcase developments in carpet recycling and the association’s busy stand and well attended seminar at the show this year proved that the sector is gaining the attention of a wider audience.
Specifiers and new members were among 180 contacts made, with growing interest from entrepreneurs as Jane Gardner, Project Co-ordinator explained; “As well as flooring contractors, local authorities, recyclers and waste management companies, we attracted attention from innovators and companies considering using carpet fibres as raw material supply in new goods, such as insulation and other construction products.”
A range of creative and innovative applications for carpet recycling and re-use were explored in the information-packed CRUK seminar programme covering key areas such as eco-design for recycling, trends in specification for sustainable carpets and using carpet waste as a new resource.
