15 – 17 September 2019
Carpet Recycling UK will be on stand M55 at this year’s Flooring Show with a focus on supporting the flooring sector to increase recycling and reuse of these materials, thereby helping to reduce disposal costs.
Flooring companies regularly contact CRUK for support in consideration of the most sustainable and cost-effective options for handling their waste carpet tiles, broadloom carpets and other materials including underlays. They recognise the added value that they can offer to their customers if they can put systems in place to reuse or recycle these materials.
Retailers and contractors can join as new members at the show with support, information and membership details available from CRUK’s friendly team.
CRUK was founded in 2008 to tackle the 400,000 tonnes of waste carpet arising in the UK annually. Its core funders are Cormar Carpets, Lifestyle Floors/Headlam, Brintons Carpets, DESSO, ege, Milliken, and Balsan. At the beginning of 2019 we were able to report an increase to 44% landfill diversion of carpet waste, which equates to over 175,000t in 2018.
With strong on-going support from our core funders who are leading the way for sustainability within the carpet value chain, the reuse and recycling of waste carpet across the UK has continued to rise year on year since 2008 when CRUK was founded.
It is worth visiting our stand for a friendly chat to find out which recycling options will work for you based on your geographical location, types of carpet waste and volumes. It also offers an opportunity to find out if compacting waste using a ‘carpet crusher’ is financially feasible.” Our member Kenburn will again be at the show, this year Simon Wells will represent Kenburn on stand M51.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
