The photograph shows 2017 prize winner Megan Lovett receiving her certificate and the £5000 award from the Master Woolmen Christopher Thierry at the Civic Dinner held at the Clothworkers Hall on 25th October 2017.
Megan graduated in 2017, having studied Textiles with Business Studies, specialising in woven textiles. Her final collection, Loop and Weft, investigated the combination of woven and knitted textiles and the many varying technical processes and their outcomes, creating garments which evolved from technical discoveries and three-dimensional exploration on the body. Megan was inspired by craft practitioners such as Anni Albers, experimenting with techniques not just for the sake of the outcome, but also for the joy of the process. She is currently working full time at Burberry in London as an assistant textile designer.
